6 People Shot Outside Workplay In Birmingham
Gunfire broke out during a teen party at Workplay in Birmingham Sunday night.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Multiple people were shot outside Workplay when gunfire broke out Sunday night during a teen party at the venue.
Reports say at least five people were shot, but all are expected to recover from their injuries. Police indicated that an altercation occurred outside the venue that resulted in shots being fired.

"Our law enforcement officers have been dedicated in their response, but as a city we must realize that this goes deeper than arrests,'' Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin said in his statement. "We as a city must wrap our arms around our children. We must double down on conflict resolution efforts for our youth. If they won't come to us, we must go to them. Relationships matter."
"We must all take responsibility for being the source of wisdom, guidance, restraint and compassion that our children need,'' he said. "Accountability is what will heal our city."
