Accident On Highway 78 Leaves Driver Injured, Packages Destroyed
An accident on Highway 78 Thursday night left a driver with serious injuries and several FedEx packages destroyed.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a traffic accident that closed Highway 78 West Thursday evening.
Just before 5 p.m. Thursday night, deputies responded to a report of a traffic accident on Highway 78 West at the Five Mile Creek Bridge. They arrived to find a box van had left the road and driven down an embankment into Five Mile Creek. The adult male driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The truck had been contracted by FedEx to deliver packages. Several of the packages inside the truck were destroyed. FedEx was notified to pick up the packages that were not damaged. The investigation is ongoing.
