Accused Drug Trafficker Charged In Birmingham Homicide
A man arrested on drug charges in Shelby County has been charged with a July 15 homicide in Birmingham.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A man arrested in Shelby County on drug charges has been charged with the July 15 murder of 23-year-old Antonio Jackson. Birmingham police obtained a capital murder warrant Friday against Ronald LaVance Steen of Birmingham.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said Jackson was shot in the SOuthTown housing community the night of July 15. Officers found Jackson on the floor near the front of the residence with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation led police to Steen, who was arrested last week on drug charges in Shelby County. Steen will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail upon completion of his pending case in Shelby County.
