Adult, Child Killed In Birmingham House Fire

A fire Friday morning at a home on 9th Terrace North in Birmingham claimed the life of a man and small child.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A 67-year-old man and a 4-year-old child died after a house fire in Birmingham early Friday morning. The fire occurred in the 4500 block of 9th Terrace North in the Kingston neighborhood just after 2 a.m.

A report from Birmingham Fire & Rescue said the adult, Bobby Miles, and his great-grandchild, Kyree Phillipe Miles, were rescued from the blaze and taken to a local hospital, but both were pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire by 6 a.m., according to Chief Jackie Hicks.
