Alabama, Auburn And UAB To Play Games At BJCC In December

Alabama, Auburn and UAB will all play at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in December

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Alabama's three largest universities will bring their basketball teams to Birmingham in December in two separate events at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. On December 16, the BJCC will host the BHM JAM, which will feature a double-header with Auburn facing Middle Tennessee State and UAB taking on Alabama A&M. On December 22, Alabama will face Texas in the Vulcan Classic at the BJCC.

Neutral-site college basketball games have been played in Legacy Arena at the BJCC numerous times since the venue opened, but this will be the first multi-game regular season event in the arena since 2007. The BHM JAM also marks the first time Auburn and UAB have played together in a doubleheader since 2001. The event is scheduled to begin at 2:15 p.m. Ticket information can be found here.

"The UAB men's basketball team is thrilled to be a part of the inaugural BHM JAM doubleheader," UAB head coach Robert Ehsan "Legacy Arena at the BJCC has a storied history with UAB Basketball, and we are happy to partner with Knight Eady to bring a major neutral-site event to the local fans. We hope this event will be a staple for years to come among sports fans in our great city."

For Alabama, this will be the this year marks the third consecutive Vulcan Classic. The Crimson Tide played Oregon in 2015 and Clemson in 2016. Tip-off for this event is scheduled for 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.
