Alabama Coronavirus Deaths Top 200, Cases Top 6,200

More than 6,200 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Alabama with more than 200 deaths.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The number of coronavirus cases in Alabama surpassed 6,200 Saturday, with the death total topping 200. To date, 840 Alabamians have been hospitalized from the virus, according to the Alabama Department of Public Heath.

Mobile County continues to lead all of Alabama with the most cases and deaths, with 78 new cases reported since Friday, bringing the county's total to 888 vases and 40 deaths.

The counties with the most cases as of Saturday:

  • Mobile County: 888 confirmed cases; 6,269 total tests; 40 deaths
  • Jefferson County: 828 confirmed cases; 12,476 total tests; 33 deaths
  • Lee County: 358 confirmed cases; 2,535 total tests; 23 deaths
  • Shelby County: 298 confirmed cases; 3,212 total tests; 8 deaths
  • Chambers County: 284 confirmed cases; 911 total tests; 18 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 284 confirmed cases; 2,304 total tests; 4 deaths
  • Marshall County: 279 confirmed cases; 1,609 total tests; 5 deaths
  • Tallapoosa County: 267 confirmed cases; 1,241 total tests; 17 deaths
