Alabama Posts Fewest New Coronavirus Cases In Almost A Month
The Alabama Department of Public Health confirmed fewer than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases in the state Tuesday.
MONTGOMERY, AL — For the first time in nearly a month, Alabama reported fewer than 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 in a day. Tuesday's report from the Alabama Department of Public Health showed 963 new cases of the virus, which brought the state case total above 90,000.
Tuesday's new case total was the lowest since July 7, when the ADPH confirmed 888 new cases. This follows a day when the state also saw one of its lowest daily case totals of the last few weeks, when the ADPH confirmed 1,116 new cases.
The health department estimates that 35,401 patients have recovered from the virus, but with 31 new COVID-19 deaths added to the total, the state now has confirmed 1,611 deaths. Currently 1,517 coronavirus patients are hospitalized in the state.
