Alabama Super Tuesday Primary Results: Biden Projected Winner
Former Vice President Joe Biden has been projected by multiple news outlets as the winner of the Democratic presidential primary in Alabama.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Former Vice President Joe Biden been projected the winner in Alabama's Democratic presidential primary, just minutes after polls closed in the state. The New York Times, Associated Press and Washington Post have all declared Biden to be the projected winner.

Super Tuesday was voting day not just for Alabama. Also going to the polls were American Samoa, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia Democratic and Democrats Abroad.
Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill said last week he expected a voter turnout between 30 and 35 percent for Super Tuesday, due in large part to the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.

Mike Bloomberg: 12 percent
Tulsi Gabbard: 1 percent
Bernie Sanders: 16 percent
Elizabeth Warren: 5 percent
Across all states participating in Super Tuesday, 1,357 pledged delegates will be awarded, which is 34 percent of the total needed for the Democratic presidential nomination.
