Alabama Reports More Than 550 New COVID-19 Cases, 14 Deaths
In the last 24 hours, the Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed 555 new COVID-19 cases.
MONTGOMERY, AL — More than 550 new cases of COVID-19 were reported to the Alabama Department of Public Health in the last 24 hours, with 14 fatalities from the virus. Wednesday, the ADPH posted that the state has confirmed 21,626 cases of COVID-19 since testing began in March.
Wednesday's total saw a 555-case increase over Tuesday's total. In all, 272,694 coronavirus tests have been administered throughout the state, with 21,626 positive results, and of those positive results, 13,508 are presumed to have recovered.
In the last two weeks, the state has confirmed 5,558 cases of the virus out of 87,515 tests administered.

Montgomery County continues to show the most new cases over the last 14 days, with nearly twice the number of new cases over that time period than Mobile County, which has the most cases overall.
Here are the counties that have reported the most new cases of COVID-19 over the last 14 days:
- Montgomery County: 842 new cases in the last 14 days
- Jefferson County: 511 cases in the last 14 days
- Mobile County: 445 new cases in the last 14 days
- Tuscaloosa County: 372 new cases in the last 14 days
- Morgan County: 245 new cases in the last 14 days
