Alabama Weather Update: Thousands Still Without Power
Alabama Power crews have worked through the night, and have restored power to more than 120,000 of the 180,000 homes losing power Saturday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Most of the state of Alabama has been given an "all clear" by the National Weather Service in Birmingham, but not before multiple tornadoes ripped through the state.
Three fatalities have been confirmed, all occurring in Pickens County earlier in the day Saturday. Tornadoes were spotted in Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Barbour and Russell counties as well.
Flooding and downed trees remain in the aftermath of the storms, and law enforcement urges motorists to drive with caution of they have to drive at all this evening.

Alabama Power reported that approximately 180,000 of its customers lost power due to the line of deadly storms that passed through the state Saturday, and that restoration efforts began as soon as it was safe to do so.
As of 10 p.m., Alabama Power said 47,000 customers remained without power. By then, the company had already restored power to another 130,000 customers who lost power during the storms.

The majority of remaining outages by county include:
- 6,800 in Jefferson
- 4,900 in Calhoun
- 4,200 in St. Clair
- 3,800 in Cleburne
- 2,500 in Randolph
- 2,400 in Tuscaloosa
- 2,300 in Talladega
- 1,900 in Etowah
- 1,800 in Shelby
- 1,500 in Montgomery
- 1,300 in Chilton
- 1,300 in Blount
Alabama Power urged customers to avoid any downed power lines and be mindful if there are any downed lines in damaged structures, trees or debris. Downed lines can be reported at alabamapower.com or by calling 800-888-2726.
