4. 'I'm a paramedic from Birmingham, can we help?': Alabama paramedic reflects on helping 9/11 victims, 25 years later (wbrc.com) — A Birmingham-based paramedic and UAB executive is sharing powerful memories of rushing to help at Ground Zero after the 9/11 attacks, 25 years ago. He recalls leaving a New York medical conference to cross the Brooklyn Bridge into danger, treating patients into the night, and says Birmingham first responders still put themselves in harm's way every day.
