Area Schools Closing Due To Winter Weather
Here is the list of schools that have announced they will be closed Tuesday. The list will be updated throughout the day.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - With the threat of winter weather looming over the state, several Alabama schools and systems have announced they will be closed Tuesday, January 29. Reports say that rain will change to snow across the northwest corner of Alabama around midnight; the snow begins in areas like Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Gadsden as early as 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Governor Kay Ivey has issued a State of Emergency for the state ahead of the winter weather. "This winter storm has the potential to affect a large portion of our state. Citizens in the northern half of the state should be especially mindful of the changing weather conditions," Ivey said in a statement issued Monday afternoon. "Travel conditions could be negatively impacted Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Please avoid travel if possible and be very careful if you do have to get out on the roadways."
