Arrest Made In Shooting Of 1-Year Old Child
An attempted murder warrant has been filed against a 20-year-old Birmingham man after a child was shot Sunday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A 20-year-old Birmingham man has been arrested in connection to a shooting that injured a 1-year-old child on Sunday. Larry Jackson Jr. is charged with attempted murder, according to authorities.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said officers responded to 1227 12th Street North on a call of a child shot at the location. Officers found the child in a car suffering from a gunshot wound.
Mauldin said officers rendered aid until medics arrived. Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported the child to Children’s Hospital where the child is recovering.

The preliminary investigation suggests the shooting occurred at 1134 4th Place North where multiple rounds were fired. The victim was transported to 1227 12th Street North where authorities were notified.
Jackson is in Jefferson County Jail on $90,000 total bond for attempted murder and discharging a firearm into a vehicle.
