Authorities On Lookout For Escaped Inmate

Authorities are looking for a man who escaped from the Loxley Work Release Center in Baldwin County Tuesday morning.

BALDWIN COUNTY, AL - An inmate at the Loxley Work Release Center in Baldwin County escaped Tuesday morning, and authorities are seeking help trying to locate him.

The Alabama Department of Corrections reported that Cory Allen Kingery, 37, escaped from the Loxley Work Release Center at approximately 6:25 a.m. Tuesday. According to Alabama Media Group, Kingery began serving a two-year sentence for a first-degree theft of property conviction from the Bessemer Division of Jefferson County.

According to his arrest warrants, Kingery allegedly “did knowingly enter or remain unlawfully in or upon the premises” of the Driver’s Way car dealership and stole a Chevrolet Camaro in October of 2017. He was arrested by Bessemer PD and handed over to the Pelham Police Department.

Kingery is 5 feet and 8 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white prison uniform, but may have changed into a blue shirt or other street clothes. He has several tattoos, including two swastikas.
