Authorities Seek Family Of Woman Who Died In Nursing Home
Authorities are trying to find family members for a 77-year-old woman who died more than a week ago at a Bessemer nursing facility.

BESSEMER, AL - Ellon Gail Benton died Nov. 17 at Oak Trace Care and Rehabilitation in Bessemer. However, authorities have been unable to locate any of the 77-year-old woman's family. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said Benton was discovered about 6:30 a.m. in her bed.
Benton died of natural causes, but her body is ready to be released for burial and coroner’s officials have not yet been able to notify her relatives of the death, according to a report by Alabama Media Group.
Benton had siblings and children, according to a friend of hers. She may also have had family in either North Carolina, South Carolina and Ohio.
