Barons To Host Miles College in Pre-Season Exhibition

The Birmingham Barons annual preseason exhibition game will be against Miles College April 2 at Regions Field.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Baseball season is on its way, as Major League Baseball spring training is just weeks away. With the approaching season, the Birmingham Barons announced that the opponent for their annual preseason exhibition game will be Miles College. The game is scheduled for April 2 at Regions Field at 6:30 p.m.

"We started the tradition of the Barons hosting a local college a few years ago and we're excited to partner once again with Miles College in providing their student-athletes, supporters, and administration an opportunity to come out for a fun day at Regions Field," Barons General Manager Jonathan Nelson said. "This is always a special event for our organization and the perfect way to begin another season at Regions Field."

The Golden Bears, led by head coach Ty Roberts, are currently 3-2 on the season with their first win coming at Rickwood Field over Morehouse College.

"We are excited for this opportunity to play against the Birmingham Baron's. This is a great opportunity for our players to play against some of the best prospects in Major League baseball.” Roberts said. “The Miles College community will be out in full support and we anticipate an energized crowd to support their Golden Bears."

This will be the third time that the Golden Bears have faced the Barons in a pre-season exhibition game. The Golden Bears last appearance at Regions Field was in 2016, where they lost to the Barons by a final score of 6-0.

General admission tickets for the game will be sold for $8 at Regions Field on the day of the game and at Miles College prior to the contest. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
