Birmingham 4th Of July Fireworks: 2017 Guide

Patch is putting together a comprehensive guide to fireworks and July 4th events. If we missed something, let us know!

BRIMINGHAM, AL -- The nation is about to celebrate its 241st birthday, and it's time to watch the glorious explosions we know as fireworks. Events in the Birmingham area range from simple fireworks shows to day-long extravaganzas.

Saturday, July 1

  • Alabaster Fireworks Show
  • Fireworks start at 9 p.m. and will last about 15 minutes. View at: Plaza Circle and Plaza Drive, Alabaster YMCA sports fields, the area of Publix, Elliotsville Plaza, Municipal Park, Larry Simmons Stadium and surround areas.

  • Patriotic Fireworks Show – Fireworks show set to Patriotic music in honor of Independence Day.
  • Regions Field at 6:30 p.m.

Monday, July 3

  • Oak Mountain State Park – Fire on the Water
  • 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. $15 per car load. Gates lock at 7:30 p.m. Beer sold from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and no outside alcohol allowed.

  • Coyote Drive In Leeds
  • Fireworks and Movies – Tickets and movie line up available on their website

Tuesday, July 4

  • Trussville Freedom Celebration on the Mall in historic downtown Trussville
  • 5:30 p.m vendors open. 6 p.m. live music. 9 p.m. fireworks.

Tuesday, July 4

  • Southeastern Outings 4th of July Celebration at Bartow Arena Park
  • 6:30 p.m. UAB Summer Band concert. Fireworks after the show.

Tuesday, July 4

  • Independence Day at the American Village, Montevallo
  • $5 per person. Gates open at 11 a.m. Events from noon to evening fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Tuesday, July 4

  • July 4th Festival, Downtown Homewood
  • 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Inflatables and rides for the kids. DJ. View the "Thunder on the Mountain" fireworks show.

Tuesday, July 4

  • Thunder on the Mountain, one of the largest and most extravagant Independence Day traditions in Alabama.
  • About 20 minutes of fireworks starting 9 p.m.
