BIRMINGHAM, AL - July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that grill and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Birmingham so you can start planning now.

Rain is expected Thursday, but forecasts show skies to clear up by Thursday evening in time for any fireworks shows.

Vulcan Park

July 4, 9 p.m.

For decades, Vulcan Park and Museum has been hailed as presenting one of the largest and most extravagant Independence Day traditions in the state of Alabama—and this year will be no exception. Free to the public, this year’s show will last approximately 20 minutes and will feature a variety of firework shells that will brighten the sky with new colors and patterns. The show will be choreographed to a musical soundtrack that will feature a mix of patriotic favorites and popular music.

Trussville Freedom Celebration

Downtown Trussville

9 p.m.

Enhoy food, kids activities, live music and of course, a fabulous fireworks display in downtown Trussville.

Fire on the Water

Oak Mountain State Park

July 3, 9 p.m.

Rain or shine, this July 3 show and family event has something for everyone. Gates open at 7 a.m. Come and spend the day at Oak Mountain, grab a good spot on the beach and enjoy the day in the park as you wait for the show to start. Gates will close to the public at 7 p.m.
