BIRMINGHAM, AL -- The second half of the high school football season is under way, and the playoff picture will become a little clearer in the coming weeks, with key match-ups in all classifications.

This week, Hoover already took care of business against Tuscaloosa County with a 44-7 win, which places some urgency for other Class 7A schools in the area to win this week.

Mountain Brook hosts Oak Mountain ina regional match-up, Spain park hosts top-ranked Thompson and Vestavia Hills will face Hewitt-Trussville in other 7A action Friday.

Un 6A, Shades Valley squares off against Clay-Chalkville, Homewood plays Minor and Pinson Valley travels to Gardendale to play the undefeated Rockets.
