Birmingham Area Schools Represented In USA Today All-Alabama Team
Many of the players chosen for the USA Today All-Alabama football team are from Birmingham area high schools.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Birmingham metro area has always been rich with football talent, and 2017 was not exception. When USA Today released its annual All-Alabama team last week, many of the names on the list were from right in the Birmingham area, no surprisingly.
Hewitt-Trussville placed three players on the team, with OL Pierce Quick, QB Paul Tyson and DB Myles Mason listed. Hoover also placed three on the team (WR George Pickens, WR Shedrick Jackson ans OL Mike Maye) and the Bucs head coach Josh Niblett was named the Alabama Coach of the Year.
Thompson High School's QB Taulia Tagovailoa and OL Amari Kight made the team, and Ramsay High School also placed two on the team in DB Starling Thomas and OL Edward Collins. Also representing the metro area were Mountain Brook RB Harold Joiner, Jackson-Olin DL Coynis Miller and Fultondale LB Ja’Len Sims.
