Birmingham Attorney's ATL Flash Mob Idea Was Almost Perfect
Birmingham's Lindsey Eastwood wanted a special welcome-home for her husband at Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta. Fate had other plans.
ATLANTA, GA - Birmingham attorney Lindsay Eastwood had a great idea to welcome her husband back to the U.S. from overseas. She planned a flash mob at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Friday to greet him. However, her new husband's flight was canceled.
A native of Wales, Eastwood's husband Jon had finally gotten his immigration visa approved and the couple was preparing to live together as husband and wife for the first time since getting married in July 2017, Yahoo News reports.
But, as we know, even the best laid plans sometimes go astray. "When you plan a surprise FLASH MOB for your husband, and his flight is cancelled ... ," Lindsey wrote Friday on Facebook. "No flights are leaving NYC. Jon is stuck in JFK where he will be sleeping tonight, but hope to be with him tomorrow."

That didn't stop the singers and dancers Lindsey had assembled at the world's busiest airport from doing their thing, though. After some discussion, they decided to go on with the show.
"Jon Eastwood, this is for you," she wrote on Facebook, asking folks to like the post to make her feel better.

As of Monday morning, a video of the flash mob had been viewed on Facebook more than 23,000 times.
In it, onlookers wave U.S. flags as a group of somewhat choreographed dancers do their thing and singer Ali Ramsaier, whom Lindsey found online, sings songs including "Coming To America," "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" and "At Last."
"Within a few minutes of talking to Lindsey, I could feel the love she had for Jon and I was up for the challenge ... ," Ramsaier said, according to Yahoo. "It was done out of love."

Stuck in New York, Jon watched the performance via Facetime. By Saturday, he was home in Birmingham.
