Here are the top 3 stories today in Birmingham:

  1. A Birmingham baby spent 103 days in the NICU at Brookwood Baptist Hospital and finally got to go home. Hazel Bynum was born weighing just one pound and eight ounces. At her NICU release, she weighed in at seven pounds, and she went home with her parents Taylor and Devodric. (Alabama's News Leader)
  2. A 20-unit apartment complex is for sale in Birmingham. The complex, in East Lake, is currently listed at $975,000 and is to be sold "as-is." Five of the 20 units are vacant, and three of the five have been updated. (Birmingham Patch)
  3. A 19-year-old has been charged in the shooting deaths of two Birmingham brothers off a busy city roadway. Lorenzo Cole and Cortney Woods attempted to run away after getting shot at, but they collapsed and were found by police later on. Jakobie Deontay Smith has been charged with two counts of capital murder and is being held in Jefferson County Jail without bond. (AL.com)
