  1. An Alabama Department of Transportation employee was killed while working on an interstate sign in Birmingham on Monday. Joseph John Bonner fell from a bucket truck 40 ft. from the ground. (AL.com)
  2. Birmingham ranked #107 0n the list of best places to retire according to rankings by U.S. News & World Report. (Patch)
  3. A resident of the Bush Hills neighborhood has been battling the city for seven years to resolve a flooding issue at his home and now is considering legal action. Clinton Jones says he has had at least $25,000 in damages, but the city has investigated, denied, and closed his claim. (CBS42)
  4. Authorities have identified the victims in two shootings that occurred less than seven hours apart on Monday. Antwaun Demaun Horn was killed in a Fairfield incident, and Deonta Sewayne Pickett was killed in a Birmingham shooting. (AL.com)
  5. Departing Birmingham City Councilor Steven Hoyt reflected on his 16 years as a city councilor as he departed yesterday. Hoyt reflected fondly on his time, but after his wife pushed him to leave, he said she has given him the "balance" he needed. (BirminghamTimes)
