Birmingham Fire Department Battles Fire at Saturn In Avondale
A fire at Avondale bar and music venue Saturn was finally contained Monday night, but future music shows at the venue are in jeopardy.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A fire at local music venue Saturn evacuated the business Monday night, and puts into question the status of upcoming music shows at the popular venue. The fire reportedly started in the upstairs area of the building, where an apartment and gathering room for musicians playing the venue is located.
Birmingham firefighters put out the blaze within minutes of their arrival, but the fire triggered Saturn's sprinkler system and the venue was drenched before the water could be shut off. The venue will be closed until the water damage can be repaired.
The band They Might Be Giants was scheduled to play at Saturn January 30, but that show has now been moved to Iron City, according to the band's Twitter feed:
