Sanders Trust is a finalist for an award for their Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital project in Des Moines.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A Birmingham real estate development firm has been named a finalist for a national award for its work on a facility in Des Moines. Sanders Trust has been named a finalist in the 2018 Healthcare Real Estate Insights Awards for their Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital project in the “Post- Acute and Senior Living Facilities Best New Ground-Up Development” category.

Finalists will be featured in the December 2018 edition of HREI magazine and winners will be announced at noon on Thursday, December 6. Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital is Iowa’s first and only freestanding rehabilitation hospital.

The Sanders Trust worked with contractor J.E. Dunn and the ESa architecture firm to complete the project. The hospital provides care for patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and other conditions. Patients in need of intensive rehabilitation services have the opportunity to receive care locally, where their family members and caregivers are encouraged to be part of the recovery process.
