Birmingham Gas Station Robbery Under Investigation

Police are looking for a suspect in a robbery at a Chevron station in Birmingham Oct. 28.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A robbery investigation is underway after an incident Oct. 28 at a Birmingham Chevron location. The Birmingham Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in identifying the suspect in recently released robbery video and photos.

At approximately 1:23 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, the suspect entered the Chevron gas station located at 301 Robison Drive, walked throughout the store and approached the counter as though he was about to make a purchase, according to Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham PD.

The suspect then pulled a knife and attempted to jump over the counter at the clerk. As the suspect attempted to cross the counter, the clerk confronted the suspect with a broom to keep him from crossing the counter.

The suspect managed grab items from the counter area before leaving the location on foot. There were no injuries during the incident.
