Birmingham Man Killed In Sunday Morning Shooting

A 26-year-old man was shot and killed in east Birmingham Sunday, the city's 44th homicide of 2020.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A Birmingham man was shot and killed Sunday morning in the 7600 block of 3rd Ave South. Lamar Harris, 26, who was fund dead on the scene, is Birmingham's 44th homicide victim this year.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said the preliminary investigation suggests that Harris was riding a bicycle when he was shot.

Mauldin said no suspects are in custody and investigators have not established a motive in this homicide.
