Birmingham PD Investigating 4 Shootings In Less Than 24 Hours
Wednesday was a violent day in Birmingham, with four separate shootings across the city.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Wednesday was a violent day in Birmingham, as the Birmingham Police Department was called to four separate shootings in various parts of the city. One of those shootings involved a fatality.
Police responded to a shooting on Pearson Avenue Wednesday afternoon, where none of the victims had life-threatening injuries. Police reported that the shooter fled the scene and has not been located.
In a reported case of mistaken identity, a man was shot outside Kids First Developmental Academy 630 Third Avenue West. A report by Alabama Media Group said the suspect, who is not in custody, went to the daycare earlier looking for a particular person who he thought was at the facility. He then returned and shot the victim, who is recovering in the hospital and in stable condition.

In east Birmingham in the Brown Springs neighborhood, a man was shot and another pistol-whipped just before 5 p.m. When police arrived on the scene, they found the first victim on a sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. A second man was found one street over, on Naples Avenue, with assault injuries. He, too, was transported to the hospital.

Another shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon on Delta Street in southwest Birmingham. Police say the victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.
