The Birmingham Police reports the upcoming gun buyback is being hosted solely by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) will respond to calls to recover firearms that are received at the event. The BPD will also accept weapons that are turned in at Police Headquarters. This is not a City of Birmingham or Police Department endeavor. We will comply with all laws related to the regulations of firearms. No rewards or remuneration being offered is by or on behalf of The City of Birmingham or Police Department.
