Birmingham Police Investigate First Homicide Of 2021
After a year that included more than 100 homicides, the Birmingham PD is investigating the first homicide of 2021.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Birmingham Police Department reported the city's first homicide of 2021 after finding a victim dead in East Birmingham Friday night just after 9 p.m.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald of the Birmingham PD said East Precinct officers found a victim lying unresponsive near a residence at 4040 40th Ave. North. The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Carl Misenrendino III
Fitzgerald said the preliminary investigation suggests this incident is a homicide. However, police did not have further details on the investigation.
