Birmingham Public Library Food Truck Friday Begins Today

The Birmingham Public Library launched Food Truck Friday today, March 5, kicking off a series of events every Friday throughout March that allow the public to whet their palates and help support the 2021 BPL Bookmobile initiative. Thanks to a donation of a vehicle from the Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA), the Birmingham Public Library is preparing to convert it into a bookmobile that will take its library services of books and other catalog items beyond its four walls and deliver them to the community. Food Truck Friday will take place every Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at four BPL locations: Central Library, Avondale Library, Five Points West Library, and Springville Road Library.

The schedule is as follows (all from 11:00 am. to 2:00 p.m.:

BPL hosted another food truck fundraiser, called Soulful Sundays, last December 6. BPL plans to introduce its bookmobile later this year and is asking individuals and others who support the cause to join the effort. Your continued support of libraries is vital as much of our success depends on you! We look forward to seeing you!
