Birmingham Teen Killed In Wednesday Afternoon Shooting

An 18-year-old victim was killed in a shooting in east Birmingham Wednesday afternoon.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — An 18-year-old victim is dead after a shooting Wednesday afternoon in east Birmingham. Quanderius Amison of Birmingham was found with a gunshot wound at 708 24th Ave NW just after 2 p.m.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said officers found Amison unresponsive in a parking lot. Birmingham Fire and Rescue as well as the Jefferson County Coroner responded to the scene and pronounced him dead on the scene.

Mauldin said limited information is available on the case as the investigation has only determined that multiple rounds were shot at the location. No suspects are in custody.
