Birmingham Woman Taken Into Custody For Bank Robbery
A 24-year-old Birmingham woman is in custody following a morning robbery attempt at a Forestdale bank.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A 24-year-old Birmingham woman is in custody following a morning robbery attempt at a Forestdale bank.
Just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a robbery in progress at the Regions Bank Branch in the 1300 block of Tomahawk Road in Forestdale. It was reported that a black female suspect had entered the bank and handed the manager a note demanding money. The suspect was described as a black female wearing a grey shirt, about 25 years old.

Deputies arrived on scene quickly and found the suspect still inside the bank. She was taken into custody and is currently being questioned by detectives.
Information from the scene is that the suspect passed a note to the manager demanding $6,000 from the vault. The note read that, if the manager complied, he would be rewarded with a sexual favor, but if he refused she would claim that he had sexually assaulted her.

The suspect will be taken to the Jefferson County Jail to await formal charges.
