Blount County Man Sentenced In Sexual Abuse Case

Rama Raj "Sonny" Erramraju, convicted of paying a woman to bring her daughter to him for sexual purposes, has been sentenced to prison.

BLOUNT COUNTY, AL — A Blount County man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for paying a woman to bring her 4-year0old daughter to him for sexual purposes. Rama Raj "Sonny" Erramraju, 47, was sentenced Monday.

Erramraju was sentenced Monday to 30 years in prison for facilitating travel of a child for immoral purposes, 30 years for human trafficking, 20 years for sex abuse of a child less than 12 years old, and 10 years for enticing a child for immoral purposes. Those sentences will run concurrently.

The girl's mother, Amy Floyd Morgan, was indicted on two counts of human trafficking, two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count of facilitating the travel of a child for an unlawful sex act. The grand jury did not indict her on enticing a child for immoral purposes and sex abuse of a child under the age of 12. Morgan's trial is set for early 2020. Her children were removed from her custody.
