WEST MEMPHIS, AR — Police believe they have found the body of Marilane Carter, a Kansas wife and mother who was reported missing August 1 when she left her Overland Park, Kansas, home to drive to Birmingham.

Carter's vehicle was discovered by police in a shipping container in West Memphis, Arkansas, Tuesday morning. Chief Todd Grooms of the Crittenden County, Arkansas Sheriff's Office said in a statement that the body hasn't been positively identified, but investigators found a credit card with the body that had Carter's name on it.

Groom said Carter's vehicle appears to have been deliberately driven in to the container in a shipping field.
