Arrest Made In Bomb Threat At Gardendale High School
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office confirms that a suspect has been arrested in connection with a bomb threat at Gardendale Hign School.

GARDENDALE, AL — A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a bomb threat was called in at Gardendale High School Thursday morning. The threat was called in around 5 a.m., delaying the start of the school day by more than two hours.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that investigators were able to identify the caller, locate him and take him into custody. The child has been transported to Juvenile Detention where he will be charged with making Terrorist Threats.
David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said they were made aware of the threat at approximately 5 a.m. Thursday. Authorities deemed the school safe for re-entry after inspection. The source of the threat is still under investigation.

Additional School Resource Officers will be on campus for the rest of the day, Agee said.
"Due to an anonymous threat, Gardendale High School has been delayed today, September 5th, until 10:30 a.m.," said Jefferson County Schools spokesperson Whitlee Lusk in a statement Tursday morning. "The students that were already on campus are being housed in the Bragg Middle School gym. Law enforcement is on the scene ensuring the safety of all students and staff. Communication will be provided when the building inspection is complete and deemed safe by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department."

Students reported to school at 10:30 while law enforcement remained on the scene.
"We will investigate any threat to school safety and arrest those individuals who are responsible," Agee said.
