- Warming up your car in the morning could result in theft, according to police. While temperatures get colder, some people like to keep their cars running in the morning or while they make a trip inside local businesses. According to Sgt. Rod Mauldin, "It takes less than five seconds for someone to steal your car in these circumstances." (Birmingham Patch)
- A Birmingham restaurant was chosen as the best Chinese takeout in Alabama. Great Wall Chinese Restaurant has been a staple in Birmingham for over 30 years, and it got reviews claiming it is the "best Chinese food in the South." Customers rave about the wontons in spicy peanut sauce, fried dumplings, egg rolls, and the Ma Po Tofu. (Birmingham Patch)
- Two ex-Birmingham Chick-fil-A workers have been sentenced to federal prison for stealing $492,000. Larry James Black Jr. and Joshua Daniel Powell diverted customer payments to bank accounts they had control of, while also intercepting virtual credit card payments through a personal email account. The sentences were given by U.S. District Judge Madeline H. Haikala. (AL.com)

- Detectives are requesting the public's assistance to obtain information on the homicide which occurred on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021, involving Da'Ontay Jarrett. The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was walking in a parking lot when he was shot by an unknown suspect, who later fled in a silver sedan.
