Kick off your summer with an audiobook! Whether you are an avid listener already or curious to try one out, June is the perfect time since it is National Audiobook Month.

Here are some reasons why an audiobook might be perfect for you:

Hands-free reading – Enjoy the ease of putting on your favorite headphones and getting immersed in a fascinating narrative.

An uplifting distraction – Listening to an audiobook can be a diversion from boredom, loneliness, and other conditions. Listening to audiobooks provides an enjoyable way to “see the world” when other options are not as accessible.

Downloading books can be free – You can download audiobooks to electronic devices at no cost from the Birmingham Public Library or from a variety of websites like Project Gutenberg.
