Brighton Homicide: Police Investigate Death Of 15-Year-Old

BRIGHTON, AL — Law enforcement officials are investigating a homicide in Brighton that resulted in the death of a 15-year-old victim. The victim, identified as Ke’Marius Scott, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reports say law enforcement arrived to the scene in the 1500 block of Smith Street around 3 p.m. Thursday to find the 15-year-old victim suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say the incident may have been an accident, but they are not ruling out other possibilities.

The victim’s mother says a vigil is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. at 310 66th Street in Fairfield.
