What has not changed, however, is that the Bucs are still tops in the state, and are ranked consistently among the best football teams in the entire country. This year. Hoover will begin its 7A title defense as the No. 8 ranked team in the country, according to High School Football America.
The defending 7A champs are one of three Alabama schools in the national rankings. Central-Phenix City is No. 71, while Hewitt-Trussville is ranked No. 91.
