Burglary Suspect Caught In McCalla
a Burglary reported in the 5500 block of South Shades Crest Rd. in the McCalla community resulted in an arrest Sunday.

MCCALLA, AL - A burglary reported in the 5500 block of South Shades Crest Rd. in the McCalla community Sunday resulted in the arrest of a female suspect. The incident occurred just after 7 a.m. at a vacant residence.
Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies close by responded to a call of suspicious activity and found Debra Teel inside the residence. The deputies discovered a broken window and a bag of items that Teel said she had collected from the house.

Teel was arrested for Burglary 3rd degree. Once sge was in custody, deputies reported that she stated “Well I guess it’s breaking and entering. I know I shouldn’t have done it."
