Summer Art Camps at Space One Eleven are a perfect way for young artists to learn a new art form or improve upon their art skills! These camps give young artists ample time to dive into their projects, make friends, and create works of art ready for the end-of-summer art exhibition in Space One Eleven’s art galleries.
Tuition is offered on a sliding scale. Families may qualify for free or reduced rates thanks to the support of local foundations and individual contributors.
For young artists in grades 2-5 we offer I’m an Alabama Artist, too!, a camp in which young artists discover artists of Alabama—past and present—while drawing, painting, sculpting, and dreaming up their own masterpieces. Through claymation, composition, and color, young artists explore their world and their place in it.
For grades 6-12 we offer one and two-week camps that allow young artists to take a deep dive into specific mediums and techniques to create original artwork. Space One Eleven offers a variety of camps, including drawing, papier-mâché, portfolio development, clay, crochet, sculptural basketry, fashion, printmaking, wood sculpture, screen printing, and architecture. Our camps are taught by experienced exhibiting artists who provide college-level instruction and give young artists the chance to work with advanced media and techniques, while teaching and reinforcing foundational skills.
