Chicago Murder Suspect Caught In Birmingham

A Chicago murder suspect was found by U.S. Marshalls in the Wylam community of Birmingham Monday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A murder suspect from Chicago was captured by U.S. Marshalls Monday night in the Wylam community of Birmingham. The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force took 22-year-old Solomon J. Kinermon into custody while he was walking into a home in the neighborhood.

Kinermon is wanted the Chicago Police Department for first-degree murder, as he is accused of stabbing a victim to death on April 23, according to a report by Alabama Media Group.

The USMS Great Lakes Regional Task Force notified the U.S. Marshall's Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force Friday that Kinermon could be in the Birmingham area. Marshals investigators in Birmingham developed information on several addresses that Kinermon was known to frequent in Birmingham and were actively searching for him. On Monday, lawmen spotted Kinermon in a white Nissan Altima that was stopped in the 4600 block of Seventh Avenue in Wylam. After he was identified, he was taken into custody. is being held without bond in the Jefferson County Jail awaiting extradition to Illinois.
