Wandering Child In Bloody Clothes Leads Police To 2 Dead Bodies

BIRMINGHAM, AL - When the Birmingham Police Department was informed of a little girl wandering alone in the street in east Birmingham, they likely did not expect that child to spark a homicide investigation. However, the Birmingham Police Department is now investigating a double homicide in the incident.

The Birmingham Police Department received the report about the child Thursday afternoon, and when investigators arrived, they noticed the child's clothing was stained with blood. According to a report by Alabama Media Group, the child led officers to two unresponsive adults inside a home. Both adults were pronounced dead on the scene at 4:41 p.m.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said they have identified victims - an adult white male and an adult white female - but said they have not notified their next of kin. Police said they do not yet know what the young girl's relation is to the victims.
