Christmas Eve Homicide Investigated In Birmingham: Police

On Christmas Eve, police found a person with a gunshot wound in his vehicle. This was the 114th homicide in Birmingham this year.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A homicide happened Christmas Eve in the southwestern part of Birmingham, according to the police department. This was the 114th homicide investigated by Birmingham Police in 2021.

Birmingham Police responded to a suspicious vehicle report in the 2800 block of 30th Street Southwest around 11:55 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 24. Officers found an unresponsive man in a silver Dodge pickup truck with an apparent gunshot wounds. Rescue personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as Jesse James Valone, 29 of Greenville, South Carolina.
