Convicted Sex Offender Charged In Center Point Carjacking
A convicted sex offender has been charged with a carjacking that occurred in July in Center Point.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - In one of the easiest "manhunts" of the year, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office located its prime suspect in a Center Point carjacking case right inside the Jefferson County Jail. The suspect, Christopher Keith Terry, has been charged with first degree robbery, but that is just the latest in a series of charges he has faced.
On July 23, deputies were dispatched to the scene of a robbery. Once on scene, they found a female juvenile who had been robbed of her vehicle by a white male with a knife. Detectives were able to obtain video footage of the offender which was displayed on social media. Through Crimestoppers and various other sources, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office began receiving tips.
After following up on the tips, detectives determined that Terry matched the description of the suspect. He was positively identified as the offender by the victim and witnesses. But trhe search for Terry didn't have to go that far. Terry had been arrested the day after the robbery occurred on unrelated charges and was being held in the Jefferson County Jail when the identifications were made.
