BIRMINGHAM, AL — Coronavirus cases in Alabama continued to increase, which prompted Gov. Kay Ivey to uphold her stay-at-home order through the end of the month, when she will evaluate the situation for May.

In addition to daily changes in the spread of the coronavirus this past week, a shootout between a Birmingham police officer and a suspect ended with a fatality.
