COVID-19 Cases Spike In Jefferson, Mobile, Montgomery Counties
The three counties with the most coronavirus cases each saw significant increases in new cases over the last 24 hours.
MONTGOMERY, AL — Of nearly 350 new COVID-19 cases reported by the Alabama Department of Public Health over the last 24 hours, nearly half of them were confirmed in Jefferson, Mobile and Montgomery counties. Eight deaths from the virus have been reported in that time as well, with three of those reported in Jefferson County.
As of Saturday morning, the state has confirmed 13,766 cases of COVID-19, with 541 fatalities. In the last two weeks, the ADPH has confirmed 4,119 cases of the virus. Of the total cases reported, 7,951 patients have recovered.
In the last 24 hours, Jefferson County has reported 66 new cases, while Mobile County has confirmed 58 new cases and Montgomery County has reported 48 new cases

- Mobile County: 1,934 confirmed cases; 18,248 tested; 107 deaths
- Jefferson County: 1,535 confirmed cases; 32,579 tested; 88 deaths
- Montgomery County: 1,104 confirmed cases; 7,459 tested; 29 deaths
- Marshall County: 643 confirmed cases; 4,896 tested; 9 deaths
- Lee County: 470 confirmed cases; 5,437 tested; 32 deaths
- Tuscaloosa County: 465 confirmed cases; 7,911 tested; 9 deaths
- Franklin County: 422 confirmed cases; 1,743 tested; 5 deaths
- Shelby County: 420 confirmed cases; 7,911 tested; 19 deaths
- Tallapoosa County: 389 confirmed cases; 2,511 tested; 62 deaths
- Butler County: 330 confirmed cases; 1,249 tested; 11 deaths
