Dead Teenager In Hoover Shooting Identified

An 18-year-old black male who was shot and killed Tuesday night at a Hoover apartment complex has been identified.

HOOVER, AL - A teenager who was found dead from gunshot wounds in a Hoover apartment complex Tuesday night has been identified. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Tyric Savion Toodle. He was 18.

Toodle attended Vestavia Hills High School before transferring to Spain Park, but had dropped out despite being a promising football prospect.

According to a report by Alabama Media Group, Hoover PD was called to the Elevation Hoover apartments on Little Valley Road off of Lorna Road around 7:15 Tuesday night. Once officers arrived on the scene they found a wounded Toodle in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:24 p.m.

The Hoover PD issued a press release stating, "We believe this was not a random shooting and that the suspect and victim likely knew each other. The shooter(s) also fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. There is no threat to the public or others in the complex at this time."
