December Health Scores: 3 Restaurants That Did Not Make The Grade
Only three local eateries failed to score above an 85 on their most recent health inspection: see where they are.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Some good news for Jefferson County restaurant customers in December was that of more than 150 restaurants in the county inspected by the Jefferson County Department of Health, only three eateries scored an 85 or lower for their health score.
Here are the local restaurants that did not make the grade in December:
Daylight Donuts; 6200 Grand River Parkway, Leeds (78): Points were deducted for failure to provide an employee health policy that states what actions are necessary when an employee has a specific symptom or diagnosis related to diseases that are transmissible through food; food handler on duty with no proof of current food safety training; food handlers is not wearing a hair restraint; failure to post current permit in full view; failure to provide a probe thermometer; missing handwashing sign at the handsink; improper storage of pesticides.

Warrior Discount Store; 9999 Corner School Road, Warrior (81): Points were deducted for failure to provide an employee health policy that states what actions are necessary when an employee has a specific symptom or diagnosis related to diseases that are transmissible through food; egg rolls, cheeseburgers, fried okra were under proper temperature; failure to provide food temperature measuring devices that are accurate; spray bottle of purple liquid was not labeled.
Woodward C-Store; 5500 Woodward Road, Fairfield (85): Points were deducted for having an expired gallon of milk for sale; black slime mold inside of slush machine dispenser; spill in the back of bottom of milk cooler and large amount of ice buildup in ice cooler; residue inside cabinet under drink machine; no thermometer in sandwich cooler or milk cooler; sink next to ice machine is filled with beer cans; black slime residue around hand sink nozzles; failure to provide a drain plug for the dumpster; failure to maintain physical facilities in good repair.
